About Great Point

Great Point is named after a large boat that I walk past almost daily floating off the edge of downtown manhattan. Every time I see it I think, “thanks!”, because I am usually having an internal conversation with myself about whatever is going on in the news or in my work that day. This newsletter is my attempt to bring that train of thought into the world, and share how my brain processes things in the early hours before my work day starts.

I work as a Brand & Marketing executive, with a focus on Strategy and Voice/Narrative/Content. I’ve worked in-house fulltime at Cash App, Netflix, Nike, Apple, a bunch of media publishers and agencies, and directly for brands as an independent consultant . When I’m working on Brand projects, I stitch together a lot of different source material and current events to find unlikely connection points, and this newsletter hopefully gives a sense of my method, & can be a useful resource for folks who have email and deck jobs like me. You will likely see my musings on things happening in Tech, Fashion, definitely shoe-related stories (mostly sneakers) and spicy takes about the way brands are operating and marketing themselves to the world.
